Into the Wild {Fitness Post}

Over the weekend I channeled my inner "mountain girl" and roughed it for two nights in the great Colorado wilderness outside of Granby, CO. After setting up camp and establishing shelter and fire, (think Naked and Afraid, Discovery Channel.... just kidding, I am not that intense) we did some daytime hiking. These hikes were absolutely beautiful, challenging, and a great way to burn a few extra calories. Hiking is a great way to stay fit in the summertime.

Do's and Don'ts of Hiking.
-Do go unplugged, (i.e. phone and email, pictures are of course acceptable) you are in nature, take it all in.
-Do bring plenty of water, hydration is key.
-Do wear comfortable shoes, this is no time to make a fashion statement.
-Do bring a friend, human or canine. If you don't bring a friend, don't forget to tell someone where you are going.
-Don't go wandering off the trail head, you don't want to be that lost hiker you hear about on the news.
